My First Summer with a Shiba

I was just wondering how do Shiba's feel about water? I live on the east coast and spend a lot of time down at the shore. We have a pool and go to the beach a lot. Will my Shiba swim? He likes being out in the rain but jumps over puddles. We are just not sure what he will do this summer.
