This deep freeze sub-zero weather has been hell. Knowing how cold it would be, we tried to prepare our boy Jack: 1) boots - we tried 3 different kinds all failed 2) Musher's wax - it just doesn't work so well in this weather; his paws get too frozen 3) we cleared a patch in the yard, laid down soft mulch and threw some "Pee bombs" (over the past week we saved his #1 from walks when he went in the snow) around; he wasn't tricked by this at all and probably knew it was some ruse because he would *never* soil his yard 4) we drove him around to our neighbor's fresh snow plowed driveways and he just wanted to go ring their bell 5) I put potty pads everywhere including the guest walk in shower and all he does is avoid the litter. It goes on and on and on... We took him out for 5-10 minutes every hour from Sunday night through Monday night to make sure he could go - all that got us was sleep deprivation. Finally after all of this he goes #2 after 29 hours and #1 after 31 hours! WHAT?!? He's done a 15-17 hour hold a few times, mostly because he didn't want to wake up and go on his morning walk and we thought that was really weird, but COME ON!!! (Jack's a healthy B/T 3.5 year old Shiba male.)
Please tell me this is a Shiba thing...?
What is the longest your Shiba ever held it?
