One general pet peeve of mine is that most sites you look at, for any breed, tell you that if you work about 8 hours a day, you should probably reconsider getting a dog, and I feel that this is pretty unfair. I don't really know any average adult, really, that works 6-8 hours a day most days, and I will probably be doing the same thing one time in my life. I feel as though it's a pretty unrealistic expectation that every dog owner can only raise a dog properly if they aren't working on the weekdays.
Can someone elaborate this statement for me please? I could understand if someone literally worked 20 hours a day, every day, and had no time whatsoever to raise a dog, but an 6-8 hour day by itself cannot be all that detrimental to most puppies, or no one would own dogs...
